As the only app to serve the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community through group-chat, creating an environment on SPACES where queer people of all genders, pronouns, identities and communities can be their most authentic selves is paramount. With its latest release, SPACES ensures that its intention to welcome and accommodate all segments of our diverse queer community is reflected in the user experience from the time of profile creation.
As part of SPACES Version 1.15, the user onboarding experience now includes the ability to indicate one’s gender and pronouns, with the app offering the most inclusive customization options of any social platform on the market. Gender choices include non-binary, woman or man, but with the added ability to customize each option with precision.
Pronouns are also fully customizable. Users have the ability to select up to three pronouns during the onboarding process, but neo-pronouns are also easily accommodated via write-in customization on the app’s Edit Profile screen.
Yet another way SPACES users are able to acknowledge and celebrate who they truly are is by choosing to indicate which segments of the LGBTQ+ acronym they identify with. Given the app’s value proposition of building in-app communities based on interest, identity, topic or location, this is more than a way for users to self-identify; it also allows the app to better suggest relevant Spaces to them.
The SPACES Team will continue working to build the safest possible social platform for all segments of the LGBTQ+ community. SPACES is available as a free download in the App Store now.
