Created in collaboration with Los Angeles-based, LGBTQ-owned apparel and home goods label Huntees, a collection of SPACES-branded merchandise is now available for purchase. Among the branded items being sold are a T-shirt and canvas tote bag bearing the message “The Future Is Queer,” a sentiment that resonates with SPACES, the only app to serve the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community through group-chat.
“The SPACES Collection” includes three items, including the aforementioned T-shirt ($29.95) and tote bag ($20), plus a coffee mug ($20.95) bearing the SPACES logo and the app’s signature shade of purple.
“It was important to us that ‘The SPACES Collection’ of branded merch didn’t just slap our logo on a T-shirt and call it a day,” says Stephan Horbelt, head of SPACES business development and partnerships. “We wanted to make a statement, and ‘The Future Is Queer’ epitomizes what we’re building for queer people over on the app. We also knew that we wanted to partner with anl LGBTQ-owned business for the collab, and Huntees — a brand that is already entrenched in serving the queer community — was our first phone call.”
“We were thrilled when SPACES approached us about creating a capsule collection for the app,” says Huntees owner and founder Viktor Pelayo. “As an LGBTQ-owned business and one that primarily serves that same community, we can get behind SPACES’ goal of building a platform that actually cares about the safety and authenticity of queer people.”
SPACES launched in March as a free download in the iOS App Store, with an Android release coming later this year.
